Huawei P8’s teaser image focuses on battery life

The upcoming Huawei flagship ditches the Ascend moniker

We are strongly supportive of the view that Huawei was clever enough to introduce its Huawei Watch on the MWC event this year and chose not to compete with the bigger giants of the market as far as the innovative smartphone side of things is concerned. However, there is still the Ascend P7 which is now old school and it calls for replacement and from what we know it is coming out in April.

The new successor is without the Ascend moniker and it has been named only as the Huawei P8. With regards to this, a teaser image was posted on the Chinese social site Weibo and from what we can tell, it focuses on the battery of the company’s upcoming flagship.

On the image we can see a segment display-style 8 digit but one of the segments has entirely been replaced by the sign of a battery which shines with a streak of light directly on it. This replacement leaves a digit 6 and we are all too excited thinking if we could ever get a smartphone which would last for six days without needing any recharge. This almost sounds impossible with all the slim profiles of the smartphones nowadays and the limitations of technology.

The sign of the battery is certainly there for a reason because the company could have avoided all this speculation and confusion if it had placed the battery sign on the left side instead of the right. So this leaves us believing that the resultant digit 6 might actually have a meaning to it. Well, looks like we will have to wait till the company sheds some more light on the meaning of this teaser image.

Meanwhile, numerous rumors and leaks have gone hand in hand to give us a little view of the insides of the phone. The new P8 is most likely going to have a 5.2-inch FullHD screen with a ceramic uni-body. The phone will be powered by an in-house Kirin 930 chipset that debuted on the MediaPad X2.
