Idris Elba is probable to be cast for the role of the next villain in Star Trek but there is no confirmation yet.

Idris Elba has proved his mantle with regard to versatility and excellent acting. His role in the Beasts of No Nation by Cary Fukunaga which is being distributed by Netflix is already earning him some serious awards chatter. This will definitely be not the first time that he will be nominated for his work.

He has a lot coming up in his career. It’s not just a movie or a drama, the British actor is set to appear in “Bastille Day” starring Richard Madden, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Disney movie “The Jungle Book” and the indie “A Hundred Streets”. If Idris thought that would be enough, he should prepare for more. When you have such talent, the world wants it more and more.

It has been rumored and quite strongly by Variety so that Idris Elba is the next possible actor to play the role of the villain in the next installment of the Star Trek franchise. The villainous roles have been taken by the Aussie actor Eric Bana and the British heartthrob Benedict Cumberbatch in the first two parts respectively and both the actors have set the bar for some damning villainy for anyone to follow.

J.J. Abrams who is producing the new movie might be interested in the British actor to play the next villain. According to reports, this time around the villain is more likely to be Klignon as they’ve only existed in the background from the start of this renewed franchise. Pegg and Doug Jung will be writing a Klignon oriented script this time around.

J.J Abrams will be partnered by Bryan Burke and Skydance’s David Ellison. The original cast for the movie has signed on for the upcoming movie including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin.
