The full-court Earth Day press /4/have brought in a lot of potential for impressing the customers and now that Apple is going to expand its Reuse & Recycling program to help recycle more devices, people are likely to get more out of it. From this morning, the iPad has been made eligible for the in-store Reuse & Recycling program at Apple Retail Store locations and this gives customers an opportunity to receive credit for their aging Apple devices.

Till now, these trade in credits would only be received by the users of iPhone but with the expansion of this environment friendly program, Apple is going to let iPhone or iPad trade-in credit to be used on cross products. This is an amazing offer since this allows you to go for a trade in of your eligible iPhone and use the credit to purchase a new iPad. Earlier on, the iPhone trade in credit could only be used for the purchase of an iPhone.

However attractive this might appear to Apple users, they must understand that it hasnt been an easy task for the company and it is not so simple to just allow a trade in. The specialists at the company have devised a list of 22 criteria upon which the decision will be based which will tell whether a device is suitable for a trade in or rather ‘eligible’. A device would be considered ineligible it has the following defaults; non-Apple parts, jailbroken devices that cannot be restored, Find My iPhone cannot be disabled, and several others.
