iOS 9 now has Six-Digit Passcode and is harder to crack

Apple has introduced 6-digits passcode in iOS 9 instead 4-digits

Apple announced iOS 9 during its WWDC 2015 keynote and as the developers are getting their hands on the latest and greatest OS from Apple, many new and interesting features are coming up which Apple decided not to talk about during the keynote.

Apple believes in making the iPhone more secure than ever and with never ending leaks and hacks, iOS 9 now supports 6-digit Passcode instead of 4. You /4/not notice this change if you have a default 4-digit code already set up on your iPhone but newly configured devices with Touch ID will be offered a default Passcode configuration of 6-digits.

Now you have three options to choose from which are: 4-digit, 6-digit or an alphanumeric Passcode. With Apple going for 6-digits for the passcode it more tougher to crack as there will be a million combinations to choose from while the 4-digit passcode just managed 10,000 combinations.

According to the Apple site, “ The passcode you use on your Touch ID-enabled iPhone and iPad will now have six digits instead of four. If you use Touch ID, it’s a change you’ll hardly notice. But with one million possible combinations – instead of 10,000 – your passcode will be a lot tougher to crack.”

Apple iOS 9 is only accessible to the developers only for now with public beta going live next month.
