Dropped from space and still works

Apple is looking forward to 2015 as it looks to be one of the landmark years in the history of the company. The Apple Watch is set to be released in the early part of the year and the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus look to garner big sales in the smartphones market. If you are a person that is thinking about purchasing an iPhone 6 one thing you should know is that you are going to be purchasing a highly durable mobile device, especially if you plan on using the Urban Armor Gear’s iPhone case for it.

A recent test was conducted over the English countryside which involved the iPhone 6 with the Urban Armor Gear composite protective case over it being rose 100,000 feet in the air with the aid of a balloon. The balloon had a GPS, two GoPro cameras, and a backup phone on board with it. As the balloon reached the 100,000 feet mark, the balloon burst thus causing the phone to come crashing back to earth. The resulting landing is one that is very exciting to potential iPhone 6 consumers.

When the phone came back down, a safety parachute was employed to protect anyone on earth and in the crash landing zone. The phone was exposed to temperatures nearing -80 degrees fahrenheit and 70 mph winds. These conditions did kill the charge in the battery of the iPhone 6. As the phone came to a landing on the ground, the rig that it was in bursted and broke but the phone was still intact. As a matter of fact, scientists recharged the phone afterwards and it was back in action and fully functional.

Extreme tests for the durability of iPhones and iPads have been done before such as having them dropped from moving planes and having them thrown in hot lava. This latest test certainly goes to show that the iPhone 6 is very durable and that consumers should not be worried if they accidently drop their phones somewhere, especially if they have a composite cover on them such as the one that Urban Armor Gear offers.
