- 6 Plus preferred for larger screen
- 4G LTE connectivity
- Both models beat 5s, 5c
The iPhone 6 has managed to gain a 33% market share and has ultimately become the best-selling model among iOS devices
We certainly have no doubts about the success of the iPhone 6 models and out of the two, the larger 5.5 inch versions seems to have done way better. And within a little more than three months of the phone being released into the market, the iPhone 6 Plus has managed to take over 41% of the “phablet” sales. The sales coming under this category include all the sales of the smartphones having a screen size of 5.5 inches or more. And as it appears, the phablet trend seems to be increasing year on year and within the phablet category, people have preferred the iPhone 6 Plus the most. The phablet sales represented 10% of overall smartphone sales which shows an increase of 2% from last year.
The larger screen size of the iPhone 6 Plus is the primary reason why most of the people preferred the phone. Out of all those surveyed, a great deal of 58% said that this screen size was the main driving force behind their choice of the iPhone 6 Plus. Though the other iPhone 6 model seems to have a comparatively smaller screen size, 60% of consumers who chose it said that they bought the phone because of the larger screen size. The second most important driver for both the models was the phone’s ability to connect to a 4G/LTE network.
In just a little while of being on the market, the iPhone 6 has managed to gain a 33% market share and has ultimately become the best-selling model among iOS devices for the three months ending in October 2014. As compared to this, the iPhone 5s was the second best-selling iPhone model with 26% of market share and the 5c model with 18% share.
