ISS Pushed Off Orbit by Soyuz Engine

Russian space agency Roscosmos issued a statement detailing an incident at the International Space Station.

The astronauts at the ISS had to endure a scary incident. A docked Soyuz spacecraft has accidentally pushed the ISS off its orbit. Russian Space Agency Roscosmos issued a statement detailing the incident.

During routine testing of radio rendezvous and docking to the International Space Station a Soyuz rocket engine has started. This led to a slight change in the position of the ISS. Roscosmos has taken the necessary measures to stabilize the ISS. Experts of Roscosmos are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the incident.

Roscosmos also announced the schedule for the next ISS missions. The next manned mission is planned for July 23-25, but might be delayed because of the incident on June 8. The whole schedule for the ISS mission had to be delayed because of the accident in April. Roscosmos lost contact to Russian Spacecraft Progress 59 and it tumbled towards earth and burned up.

The Russian Space agency is the only organization capable to transport astronauts into space at the moment. SpaceX and Boeing work with NASA to change that soon. SpaceX has just officially completed another step in getting the Crew Dragon certified by NASA for manned space flights.
