iWatch Delayed says Analyst Report

Expected to launch this fall, Apple’s iWatch smartwatch /4/be delayed, a new note obtained by MacRumors from KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo reveals. The well-connected insider who has offered many accurate details about unreleased Apple devices now says that mass-production for the iWatch is set for November. Previously, the same Kuo said that the smartwatch would hit mass-production in late September.

Apparently, the development of the iWatch is a lot more complex than initially expected, which is why Apple /4/be delaying the launch of the wearable device.

“We believe developing the hardware and OS of iWatch will be a much more difficult task than for Apple’s existing products,” Kuo wrote.

The analyst says the iWatch packs new technologies including a flexible AMOLED display, sapphire glass cover, a smaller form factor and better waterproof standards than any other Apple devices. Furthermore, redesigning iOS for the iWatch /4/be a more difficult challenge for the company.

The iWatch is expected to offer advanced health and fitness features, with Apple having already unveiled its Health iOS 8 app and HealthKit developer pack that will help Apple and developers connect the iWatch with other iOS devices for the purpose of gathering all sorts of health data.

Apple is expected to launch a slew of new devices this year, including new iPhone and iPad versions, new Macs, and the iWatch, alongside new software including iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, although release dates for any of these products aren’t officially available at this time.
