Jada Pinkett Smith‘s brand new FOX Entertainment show “Gotham” is on air these days. This series was highly anticipated by fans of Gotham and Batman. This series’ debut was a strong one. It was seen that its first episode managed to get higher ratings then many popular series of prime time.
Jada Pinkett Smith is also acting in this series. Her role in this series is of a villain. She previously said that she was really excited to be working in this series. She also shared the fact that she felt honored to be working with such big names.
Recently an allegation was made against this series. The allegation was made on the basis of racism. It was reported that makeup was applied to the face of a white actress to make her look like an African-American.
This situation was reported by Jada Pinkett Smith’s stunt women. She specially talked with the media in order to provide information about this situation. It was published earlier in Deadline that a cover-up was arranged for this series. However WB apologized later on by saying that a stuntwoman was cast for a single scene but the situation had been solved now.
Although Jada Pinkett Smith reveled that initially it was decided that she will not be given any stuntwomen. She said that she was told at the start that her character did not require any stunt double. So she did not think of having one in the series. Jada Pinkett Smith is playing the role of Fish Monney who is a cold villain. She has worked really hard to get her attire for this role.
It is said that she knew that her stunt women was painted black in order to look like her. She said that she would not tolerate this kind of attitude in the future. She believed that it was 2014 and this kind of practice should not be reinforced.
It was reported afterwards that this situation was under control and that this would not happen again. Deveroux reported that the stunt woman was quite uncomfortable and embarrassed by the situation.
