Jennifer Lawrence will play Mystique last time in X-Men: Apocalypse

During the red carpet of her latest film ‘Serena’ Jennifer Lawrence shared with MTV news the next film in the X-Men universe ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will be her last as the character of Mystique.

Jennifer Lawrence’s time as Mystique is coming to an end. The shape shifting blue mutant played by Jennifer Lawrence was a fan favorite of the reboot in the X-Men series. Lawrence has portrayed the character of Mystique in two adaptations of the X-Men franchise, the ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, while the third installment ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will be her last. As the name of the third installment ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ coveys the next film was certainly going to end some character story line, and apparently Mystique will be one of them. 

While it is not confirmed what exactly will happen to the character of Mystique we do know Jennifer Lawrence will not be reprising her role again. The news was shared by Jennifer Lawrence herself, who told MTV that she will not be playing Mystique after the third film ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’.

While on the red carpet for the screening of her new film ‘Serena’ Lawrence shared the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is her last X-Men film. Lawrence conveyed the news to the MTV News on the red carpet and did not elaborate her small statement.

The hearts of the fans who especially loved Lawrence’s portrayal of Mystique will be severely disappointed as her character was one of the highlights of the reboot. Lawrence’s stamen also quenches all hopes for a Mystique spin-off which was a favorite topic on fan page forums and blogs.

Ever since ‘X-Men: First Class’ came out Lawrence’s portrayal of the character of Mystique enchanted fans and critics alike and resulted in unanimous praise. However as the story-lines progressed new characters were added into the franchise such as Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey.

The new addition of mutants has already been cast by the studio. As a new era of mutants take over the old one’s time comes to an end. Main characters like Xavier, Magneto, Beast and Mystique will have to give the spotlight to the new generation of mutants. 

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will released on the 27th of /4/2016 about a year from now and will be the last appearance of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. Fans will definitely be going to the cinema in herds now they know it will be the final appearance of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.
