Jennifer Love Hewitt is catching bad guys instead of talking to dead people on TV. You can see her catching bad guys in premiere of ‘Criminal Minds’.
The excitement of Criminal Minds just returned to your TVs. One of my favorite criminal TV shows said farewell to one of its main cast members last season Jeanna Tripplehorn but don’t be sad. We welcome Jennifer Love Hewitt to the team.
Jennifer is introduced as Kate Callahan and she is working her old job as a sexual crimes agent. In her introductory scene, she uses some clever and sassy work to lure a pedophile into a FBI trap. Kate joins a time to catch a criminal by the name of “The Mad Butcher of Bakersfield”.
The killer hacks off the limbs of women with athletic profiles and dismembers their torsos. Kate analyzes that the unsub (as they are traditionally called on the show), the killer commits murder for sexual gratification.
The team pursues several leads before ending up on a trail where the already dead victims lead them to find the newly kidnapped victim. Kate gives the unsub a quick chase before coming face to face with him only to be saved from being attacked by Hotchner.
We see good bonding between Kate and Hotchner and her timing with Garcia was also complimenting to see. Kate’s character is a light addition and it reminds us of Elle in season one. She is also very serious when it comes down to it. She admits to Hotchner at the end of the case that she felt that the unsub was not working alone. We find out later that she is right.
Other than the mystery of who the unsub’s accomplice was, we are also intrigued with the girl Kate goes home to?
We have seen Jennifer act brilliantly talking to dead people for 5 years in the Ghost Whisperer. We know she can act and we know she is used to working on TV. We are happy to see her back on TV.
