Jessica Chastain appears on Cover of Glamour

Jessica Chastain is not only a Glamour cover girl she is also slated to appear in a trio of blockbusters in the upcoming months. Will an Oscar lie in the cards? All we can do is to wait and see.

She was a stranger to fame until recently and confesses that she didn’t develop those feminine curves until very late in her life. The stares and gazes that come her way now are something she has yet to fully digest on a psychological level. 

A half a dozen years ago, she was just an ordinary girl. But then fate took a different turn and she went on to perform in about 18 movies. Two Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe Award later she is literally famous for being famous. 

Her mom and dad were a chef and firefighter respectively. And while her schoolgirl days were an isolated sort, later on she found a social life via drama classes. Robin Williams encouraged and helped her financially too in her quest to become an actress.

Jessica is very vocal about the attitudes of fat shaming and thin privilege you see on the Internet today. She considers it to be very disgusting. And she thanks God there was no Information Super-Highway in her times. 

Speaking of Robin Williams, she says she owes a debt to him which she will never be able to repay. He was the magic man who changed her life forever. Besides funding her acting school fees, he was a wonderful human being whose death by suicide had left Jessica in tears. 

The cruelty and rudeness that had become a part of American culture were the major cause of suicide among teenagers who were the most vulnerable category.

While Jessica plays women who have been empowered in her films, she portrays them in all their brutal realism, warts, wrinkles, pimples and all. This approach brings out the human touch in them. Perfection is not what she is looking for in her roles in front of the silver screen.
