Jill Duggar and Husband Welcome First Child

The reality star is the first daughter to give birth. The pair welcomed a baby boy.

Yesterday marked another addition to the Duggar family – this time it was a little boy courtesy of Jill, the first daughter of the 19 Kids bunch to be married. The announcement came exclusively through People. 

Arriving just before midnight, the baby boy, Israel David, weighed in at 9lbs, 10oz, which is quite a big baby for the family. The happy parents were married under a year ago, and were overjoyed with the new addition to their family. While they had initially planned a home birth, the baby was born in the hospital. 

“We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby!” wrote Jim Bob Duggar on the family’s official Facebook page. “Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”

Israel was quite a few days past due, but the reality star actually predicted that in a previous interview. : “I have told myself, ‘First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don’t get discouraged.'” This does not push off the inevitable “very special episode” that will document the birth for TLC, which has been set to air right before mother’s day for months.
