John Wayne Gacy Room present in Haunted House

Rob Zombie is the landlord of a haunted house in Villa Park. And it has a John Wayne Gacy room in it somewhere. The owner knows this means trouble. Termed the Great American Nightmare, the haunted house happens to be one of many similar public arenas spread throughout the United States. 

As for Rob Zombie, he is a musicologist and maker of horror movies. The Gacy room has however stirred a hornet’s nest. An actor wearing a clown suit like Gacy’s is seated in the room and he is inundated in Boy Scout dolls. 

One of the critics of this policy said that the whole thing reeked of commercialism and use value. Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins, the very vocal critic, is a fighter for the rights of crime victims and she is an outspoken voice in favor of families affected by crime. 

She vociferously blamed this sort of murder-mania. She said that there were relatives of victims of Gacy in the region. You can well imagine what would befall them when they came to know of a room titled the Gacy room in this haunted house?

 The haunted house is located in Chicago. It lies close to the actual spot where John Wayne Gacy’s residence is extant. There 36 years ago the police discovered many dead bodies buried beneath the basement. 

They were all victims of this ruthless killer whose name is being used for its entertainment value today. Gacy was put on death row and executed way back then. 

Rob Zombie meanwhile said in an interview that he was just exploiting the name for its shock value. He expected some controversy from the move he made. There was bound to be a reaction to the whole thing. 

But his critic, Bishop-Jenkins disagrees. She said that it was not in the least funny and was a ploy to gain some extra bucks via exploitation of people’s pain. 

Many of the families of the victims had not gotten over the grief. How could Rob Zombie do such a thing? It wasn’t fair and the families /4/protest against the very existence of the haunted house sometime in the future.
