Jon Cryer recently revealed quite a few details about Charlie Sheen’s self-destructive ways.
Jon Cryer remembers the times of excess so well. Charlie Sheen’s descent into a personal hell was described by Jon recently in all its lurid details. The way the superstar just gave up on himself was an object lesson in utter madness. The “Two and a Half Men” star spoke of how the slide into chaos was a slow and steady thing. It didn’t just happen all of a sudden.
Cryer however says that the moment when Sheen lost touch with reality was when he openly discussed the 9/11 conspiracy on TV. He actually claimed that September 11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush and the Neocons. That was the turning point in Charlie Sheen’s life and things would never be the same again.
Charlie was kicked off the show some time in the spring of 2011. Then he got hitched in a hurry in order to exorcise his demons. But he ended up being abusive towards his wife, Brooke Mueller. He was taken into police custody for this blatant crime. Sheen had been hooked on drugs and was an alcoholic to boot. This was of course a lethal combination and it affected his life badly.
Jon said that he was frequently anxious about Sheen’s safety. The level of irresponsibility shown by Sheen was truly monumental. Jon recalls how he was worried sick lest his friend ended up dying of an overdose. Cryer says that all the machinations to get Charlie off those intoxicants failed in the end. Jon was always there for Charlie and he tried his best to get through to him. But it was all to no avail.
Ultimately, there was this great barrier between them thanks to Charlie’s bottles and pills. Despite Charlie’s level of rough and rowdy behavior, the show he worked on tolerated him as best as it could. But in the end things got so bad that he had to be given the boot. After the departure of Sheen, Ashton Kutcher came to take his place.
Meanwhile, rumors abound that Charlie will be making a return to the series “Two and a Half Men”. When he was asked this much in an interview he responded positively and said that he would definitely consider it. After all, there had to be some sense of completion to the show, and Charlie was willing to give the makers of the show the benefit of the doubt. He also said that he would probably do something extra special in the finale of the show.
Charlie clearly had an idea of what he would be doing but was not willing to let the cat out of the bag just now. He was keeping it a secret and would only reveal it at the last moment. As for his show “Anger Management”, Sheen divulged the fact that he wanted Jack Nicholson to come on the show.
Sheen was one of the highest paid TV stars of his times. He earned oodles of money and could have really made quite a life and fortune for himself but instead he wasted it all and all his efforts went down the drain. He literally threw all he had away and by the end of the day he is just a washed up star and nothing else. Jon Cryer also revealed that Sheen had a bad habit of posting rants on Twitter and later on apologizing for the obnoxious words he said in a flurry of hatred and self-loathing.
The man was clearly not in his senses when he made those comments about Jon Cryer’s fellow star Ashton Kutcher. The question is if he had to apologize later on why did he need to make those dumb comments in the first place.
Jon Cryer was just as concerned about Sheen since the beginning of the days when chinks began to appear in his armor but he has learnt to take things with a grain of salt. If Sheen doesn’t want to help himself than surely why should others be on the prowl to ease his pain for him.
