The daughter of June Shannon, Anna Cardwell, recently talked about a molestation that took place years ago.
Anna Cardwell spoke out about being molested many years ago when she was just a child. That was before the reality TV show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” started to air. June Shannon’s eldest daughter, who is almost a full-fledged adult by now, recounted how Mark McDaniel tried to touch her in various places when she was very young.
The child sex offender has spent a decade behind bars for his heinous crimes. Anna was an eight year old back then, and this evil man was seeing her mother. Currently, TLC has announced the cancellation of the program due to the controversy surrounding McDaniel.
Since Shannon and McDaniel have been reportedly going out on dates, the danger to the kids from this nefarious man is obviously too close for comfort. Anna Cardwell, meanwhile, says that she is at present very bamboozled by the whole situation. She doesn’t not know whom to trust, her mother or the media.
“I’m just confused,” she told People in an interview. “I’m hearing one story from Mama and another one from someone else.”
Shannon on the other hand, vehemently denied any links with McDaniel and said so in a video clip on her Facebook page. She also said that it was the love of the many fans of her show that had brought her fame and fortune and she was very thankful to them indeed.
It looks like she told Anna the selfsame story. And now Anna is dazed and confused. Anna said that she wanted to believe her mother, but then there was a part of her that refused to believe a single word uttered by that woman. Cardwell said that when she told her mama about what McDaniel had done to her, she simply refused to believe her and kept denying the molestation. It was very frustrating indeed.
“A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?’ ” Cardwell said. “And I was like, ‘Mama, he did that to me and I can’t do anything about it. You were never there to see it you were always at work.”
Anna has a daughter today who is two years old. Named Kaitlyn, she is being fiercely protected by Anna from this wicked man that is dating her mother. If he is to come back into their lives, Anna definitely does not ever want him to even come within a mile’s radius of her two year old daughter.
