The Kansas City Royals have raised their ticket prices by 20 percent.

According to Team Marketing report (via CNN’s Chris Isidore), the average ticket price at the Royals’ Kauffman Stadium for the 2015 MLB season is $29.76, representing a 20 increase from last year and the highest in the majors in 2015.

Two other MLB teams raised their ticket prices by double-digit percentage figures: The Houston Astros (14 percent) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (11 percent). The Royals’ 2014 World Series opponents, the San Francisco Giants, raised theirs by seven percent, per Team Marketing Report.

The same update states ticket prices in the majors this year went up by an average of three percent.

American League East rivals the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox charge the most for concession stands and parking, per Team Marketing Report. Parking fees at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park have an average of $35.

On a bigger scale, Team Marketing Reports Fan Cost Index lists a typical day at the ballpark for a family of four at Fenway Park as the most expensive at $350.86. Yankee Stadium comes in second at $337.20. The cost for four include the tickets, hot dogs, sodas, beers, parking and two baseball hats.

Isidore stresses average ticket prices for Red Sox games are still cheaper compared to their National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL) counterparts. On the other hand, the cheapest average ticket price in the National Football League (NFL) are those for Cleveland Browns games, which is listed at $54.20.

Despite the increase in ticket prices, Royals fans were still out in full force on Monday to support their 2014 American League Champions during their 10-1 rout of their visiting AL Central rivals, the Chicago White Sox.

MLB.com’s Jeffrey Flanagan and Scott Merkin say 40,085 were on hand at Kauffman Stadium on April 6 to witness starter Yordano Ventura’s solid, six-inning performance on the mound and former White Sox outfielder Alex Rios’ three-run home run in the seventh inning to help Kansas City pull away for good.

The homer was part of the Royals’ five-run seventh inning. Rios also added two singles and a stolen base in his Royals debut for good measure. Kansas City manager Ned Yost was not the least bit surprised with Rios’ performance, per Flanagan and Merkin:

“It’s just one game, but he did this all spring long. You read all the national people say that Kendrys Morales and Rios are downgrades for us — yeah, if you go by last year and they were hurt. But we feel strongly about these guys bouncing back for us and it’s good to see [Rios] get off to a good start.”

Morales wasn’t too shabby with his three walks and a hit in two at-bats, per ESPN.com. He also scored twice, say Flanagan and Merkin.

Ventura momentarily crumpled to the ground in agony while holding his right hand during the top of the seventh inning. Team physicians later ruled it as a thumb cramp with no serious long-term repercussions, per MLB.com.

Second-year sensation Jose Abreu scored the lone run for Chicago with a 418-foot home run to left-center in the seventh inning, per MLB.com.

Lefty Danny Duffy gets the start for the Royals when they face the White Sox again at home on April 8. Jose Quintana will be Chicago’s starter on Wednesday, per Flanagan and Merkin.
