Kelly released her new “Piece By Piece” album, and it now ranks number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
So Kelly’s new album is now on top of the charts. Billboard 200 ranked the album as the most popular album of the week, using its multi-metric consumption. This also includes track equivalent albums, album sales and streaming equivalent albums.
Just found out I have the number one album WOOHOO!!!!! Thank you guys! Love that y’all are diggin’ the new material!! #PieceByPiece :)— Kelly Clarkson (@kelly_clarkson) March 11, 2015
Her album was released through 19/RCA Records on 3rd March. And, her new album earned 97,000 units in this week. Traditional album sales comprised 85.2% of the total which saw 83,000 copies being sold. And this also meant that she was going to be No.1 on the Top Album Sales chart.
Last time Kelly Clarkson topped the Billboard 200 charts, it was back in 2009. She first led the list with her debut Thankful which she released in 2003. She has also reached the top 10 four more times. She had Breakaway at No.3 in 2004, Stronger at No.2 in 2011, My December at No.2 in 2007 and Wrapped in Red at No.3 in 2013.
Kelly was also the first winner of the Fox TV reality competition show American Idol. Last Christmas Kelly had a big hit album with her collection of Christmas songs. But now with her new album, we can see that her voice is as strong as it has ever been.
Some critics and reviewers say that they like the Wrapped in Red album more when compared with the Piece by Piece album. Some of her better songs from her new album include, If I Had A Dream, Let Your Tears Fall and Heartbeat Song. Other songs on her number one album include War Paint, Tightrope, Run Run Run and Someone.
She sang the Run Run Run song with John Legend. Now there is only one thing on the American Idol fans and that is whether who amongst Kelly and Carrie Underwood will take the lead once again with the most Number One albums of any past American Idol victor. But whoever comes out to be the winner, the fans will definitely have a great time.
