23.9% of active Android phones are currently Wear-friendly

The latest Android Wear smartwatches are too hard to resist and we all agree that despite being in the super early form, they are quite completely polished. However, if you have been wanting to get your hands on one of those, you must know that there isn’t enough possibility that it would work with your phone.

The problem in this case is not with the phones but with Android itself. There are a lot of phones which run the outdated versions of Android and according to the findings of Google, only 13.6% of Android phones are running the latest public build of the OS, Android 4.4. And the important thing here is that this count takes into consideration the “active” Android phones.

In order for the Android Gear smartwatch to work, you would require a phone running the Android 4.3 or newer. So keeping this in mind, we have come to the conclusion that the Gear watches will only be able to work with a grand total of 23.9% of active Android phones.
