LG Lancet Launches on Verizon

Apparently, Verizon isn’t through with Windows Phones. Today, the largest carrier in the United States launched the LG Lancet, a budget phone running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1. Although it’s marketed as an affordable smartphone, the LG Lancet has a few interesting features, such HD Voice Calling through its Advanced Calling capabilities.

With HD Voice Calling, users can enjoy high-quality calls that are “natural-sounding” with other smartphones that support Advanced Calling. Apart from being the first Windows smartphone on Verizon to feature HD Voice Calling, the LG Lancet is also XLTE-ready.

The LG Lancet sports a 4.5-inch LCD Display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, which is essentially a quad-core 1.2 GHz chip based on the Cortex A53 64 bit CPU. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a VGA shooter on the front, 8GB of internal storage, microSD support up to 128GB and a 2100 mAh battery.

Verizon’s latest Windows Phone /4/not be the ideal phone for power users, but it’s perfect for budget-conscious consumers. The LG Lancet is now available on Verizon Edge for $5 per month. You can also purchase it directly $120 or get it for $19.99 on contract.
