The company is expecting its OLED TVs to overtake LCDs in terms of sales in a few years.

LG debuted its gargantuan 4K OLED TVs at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show where it won the “Best of Innovations” award. Now the company is launching the said TVs, which come in two sizes, 65-inch and 77-inch respectively.

The 65EC9700 and 77EG9700 4K OLED TVs feature curved panels filled with organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). The 4K TVs, LG says, employ panels with its Four-Color Pixel WRGB technology. Over 33 million sub-pixels are working to create surreal colors, excellent contrast ratio, and vibrant natural hues, LG said.

“OLED’s benefits are obvious,” says  Hyun-hwoi Ha, CEO of Home Entertainment at LG. “There’s no deterioration in picture quality and issues such as image blurring, distortion and color leakage in curved LED units are simply non-existent on curved OLED TVs. 4K OLED TV represents superb value for the consumer in terms of color reproduction, contrast ratio, detail and viewing angles.”

The LG 65EC9700 and 77EG9700 will be available for pre-order in South Korean this week. It will launch in the U.S. and Europe soon. LG will also showcase its TVs next week at IFA 2014.
