LG to feature Smart TV tech at CES 2015

webOS 2.0 to be with simple interface

LG will be one of the nearly 3,500 companies who will exhibiting their newest consumer electronics and technology at the upcoming International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. LG has announced that during CES 2015 the company will be featuring a new expanded lineup of televisions and that they will be releasing their new smart television operating system called webOS 2.0. LG officials state that this new webOS 2.0 system will be one that will capitalize on existing LG technology but at the same time making it easier for consumers to get access; access that LG says will take advantage of 4G speeds.

LG says that eventually they want to partner with companies such as Amazon and Netflix in order to bring consumers the product that they are expecting from televisions such as LG’s 4K Ultra HD TV. LG says that they want to bring a smart television experience to consumers that is not very complicated and one that is more simple that what is in current smart televisions. webOS was first introduced back in the early part of this year and LG says that within 8 months that the company has sold over 5 million smart television units worldwide.

One new feature that will be with webOS 2.0 is a ‘My Channels’ app. This new feature will allow consumers to be able to set their favorite shows and set top box channels in one app which will make for a better user experience. Eventually, the company wants to be able to get the major streaming channels such as Amazon and Netflix for an even better smart television experience.

LG will have their exhibits and booth set up at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall, Booth #8204. CES 2015 will start on January 6th, 2015 and will run until January 9th.
