LG UX 4.0 Unveiled Ahead of LG G4 Announcement

LG

This is LG’s new Android UI.

LG is getting ready to reveal its next-generation flagship phone on April 28. But the South Korean consumer electronics giant is already firing its marketing guns to amass the attention it needs to compete with Apple and other Android device manufacturers. LG has just announced its new UI (user interface) for its upcoming devices, including the G4, which is expected to debut later this month.

LG prefers a simpler name for its UI, unlike Samsung’s TouchWiz or HTC’s Sense. The LG UX 4.0, as it is called, uses a “human-centered” design philosophy that offers a simple and intuitive user interface. According to LG, its UX 4.0 is easier to use and provides a high-level of functionality through its new settings. It is worth noting that Android UIs work on top of the main Android operating system.

One of its main features is Ring ID, which allows you to customize ringtones for your contacts, giving you an idea who’s calling or messaging you. Another interesting feature is the Smart Board, which displays a collection of information from your apps at a glance. Version 4 also features an improved Quick Shot functionality, giving you the ability to capture photos by pressing the volume button of the device.

LG will demo the UX 4.0 on April 28th, alongside the G4. The LG G4 will sport a 5.5-inch display with a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, a 15-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 7-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. As usual, I4U News will be there to cover the event. So, stay tuned for more updates.
