Lumoid lets You try Smart Wristbands at Home before you Buy

With the Lumoid Wearables Box – a home try-on experience you can test wristbands and fitness trackers before you buy.

e-commerce start-up Lumoid expands its try before you buy service to wearable devices including Fitness trackers and wristbands. You can order up to 5 wearables and try them at home for 7 days. If you buy at least one item you don’t have to pay the $20 fee after you returned the 5 items.

Lumoid has launched the wearables try-on service yesterday. The offered devices include sleep trackers, fitness devices and some smartwatches. Offered devices include Jawbone UP24, Withings Pulse O2. Fitbit Charge, Garmin Vivofit, Jawbone Up Move, Misfit Shine, Garmin Vivosmart, Samsung Gear Fit and Pepple smartwatch.

This is a neat service for consumers to get to spend some time with the devices before buying to test them out and see if they fit into their daily life-style. Wearables already have a bad rep in terms of adoption. Testing it out will reduce the likelihood that you will abandon your wristband.
