The movie Mad Max: Fury Road crossed the $100 million mark at the box office. Mad Max: Fury Road earned $US 109.4 million (AUS $136.5 million) globally in its opening weekend.

It was directed by the Australian auteur George Miller. Mad Max: Fury Road broke box office records by raking in over AUS $136.5 million ($US 109.4 million). This of course makes the film the #1 hit on a planetary level. This venture was also a chart topping phenomenon in Australia. It features the rolling stone Max Rockatansky. 

France, Russia, Italy, Brazil, Spain and Korea not to mention Scandinavia are among the countries where the movie proved to be a smashing success. Premieres of the movie in Los Angeles and the Cannes Film Festival also proved it to be a very good viewing sensation.

It is on number 2 at North American box office with US $44 million whereas Pitch Perfect 2 earns $70.3 million in its opening weekend in United States. But Mad Max: Fury Road is currently topping the global box office with $109,440,000 (Domestic: $44,440,000 + Foreign: $65,000,000), according to Box Office Mojo.

Among the list of versatile actors and actresses in the film /4/be included: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. As for the producer it was none other than director himself, that is George Miller. 

The scriptwriters were Nick Lathouris, Brendan McCarthy and George Miller himself. The genres the movie appeared in were 3D, Post-Apocalypse and Science Fiction/Adventure. The movie takes you for a ride that ends with a thrilling series of surprises and shocking twists and turns. It is indeed worth watching if only for the vicarious pleasure it will lend you, the viewer, in the process.
