15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan won the Australian X Factor 2014 show.

15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan won the X Factor show in Australia this week. Her price is a contract with Sony Music. Stunned by her victory she said to judges and audience after the announcement that she was blown away. “I just can’t believe it, I feel like I’m floating on a cloud right now. Thank you so much Australia, I couldn’t have done it without you.”

Marlisa’s first single is Stand By Me, released on iTunes. An album is next. The teenager is right now on media tour. She said to comments that say she is too young for the music business: “I am not too young. I believe it is about the talent and not the age. And I still believe I am capable of taking on a career like this. I just worked really hard to earn this and I really wanted it so I put all my effort into it.” Via Sidney Confidential.

Will Marlisa Punzalan have success outside of Australia? Only time will tell. Watch Marlisa Punzalan perform her first single Stand By Me on the X Factor Show after she has won the contest. She has a very powerful and mature voice. It is pretty amazing that she can sing like that at the age of 15.

Punzalan’s self-titled debut album, Marlisa, will be released on Nov. 7, 2014 and will contain studio recordings of selected songs she performed on The X Factor. Marlisa Ann Punzalan was born on 1 October 1999 and is from Glendenning, New South Wales. She is of Filipino descent and began singing at the age of three. Besides Australia she should have no trouble to find success in the Philippines.
