There are rumors circulating around the Windows OS this time and according to what we have all been hearing, the Windows Phone OS might become available for free to some companies in order to help them compete with the Android devices. Two unnamed Indian manufacturers who are apparently part of the group of the new Windows Phone partners have claimed that they received the Windows Phone 8 at absolutely no cost.

In a conversation with Times of India, one of the manufacturers stated that “not paying Microsoft a license fee” through a unique, specific agreement. However, Redmond has made no confirmation about this statement and has stated that “we have extensive programs to help our partners build great devices.”

Indian OEM Karbonn have recently launched a dual-boot Android/WP8 phone but so far it has not confessed to any larges. But whatever the case is eventaully, the surprising bit is that it is the first time that Microsoft hasnt charged anything for its mobile OS, not even from Nokia.
