The Super Bowl 2014 takes place on February 2, and will have the Broncos play against the Seahawks in the Big Game. Besides the game there will be again a huge line-up of Super Bowl ads and trailers. Fox managed to charge $4 million on average for 30 second spots. Movie studios think twice these days about buying Super Bowl ad time because of the high cost. Though some studios still spend the money for select movies. Sony just came forward and released the Monuments Men Super Bowl trailer. The star rigged movie about the untold true story is directed by and starring George Clooney. The movie will be in theaters already on Feb. 7. Besides Clooney, the movie stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett.
The movie is based on the true story of what you can call the greatest treasure hunt in history. The Monuments Men focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. It would be an impossible mission: with the art trapped behind enemy lines, and with the German army under orders to destroy everything as the Reich fell, how could these guys – seven museum directors, curators, and art historians, all more familiar with Michelangelo than the M-1 – possibly hope to succeed? But as the Monuments Men, as they were called, found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture, they would risk their lives to protect and defend mankind’s greatest achievements. Super Bowl 2014 will take place in New Jersey on February 2. The big game will be played in the Metlife stadium in East Rutherford. It will be the first outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl.
