The malware has the ability to turn mobile Android devices into currency miners without the knowledge of the users
Because of some recent events, we might begin to question the nature of the Android ecosystem which now might be considered as a bit open. In fact it is so lenient with its open platform that it easily becomes a target for malware makers. However, this does not at all mean that users of Android will always be exposed to the malware threat because there exists a way to avoid danger. Some dosgy apps tend to remain outside the domains of the Google Play Store and by avoiding such third-party download services, users can manage to remain safe.
However, a new type of bug has recently been discovered by the renowned security firm Trend Micro. And this one must not be taken lightly because it has the ability to secretly turn devices into digital currency miners and so far at least two Play Store apps are thought to have been affected. We would defionitely not want to underestimate the damage which this one can cause because we do know that mining of cyrptocurrency requires greatly powerful machines in order to produce effective results.
Powerful setups are built by currency miners such as Bitcoin and from this we can judge the power of the malware. Though the phones have taken on immensely powerful states over the past few years, they are still not fit to bypass a task so strenuous. It is of serious consequence because without the knowledge of the user, any mobile device functioning on Android can be turned into a currency mining device. At the moment it is better to stay away from the two apps Prized and Songs which contain the malware content. The latter of these two has been downloaded between one and five million times. In case you have any of these installed on your device, don’t think twice before getting rid of them.
