New Apple Watch Update features Find my Apple Watch and Smart Leashing

Apple is readying the first Apple Watch update and the features just have leaked.

The Apple Watch runs on Watch OS 1.0 (12S507). Apple Watch users have reported some issues including lag, slow loading apps and other issues that Apple needs to address. A new report says that Apple is working on a Watch OS update that also includes a set of new features.

According to a source of 9to5Mac, Apple will include Find my Watch in the next Apple Watch update. It will allow Apple Watch owners to track down their Apple Watch in case they lost it or it got stolen. Remote wipe is also supposed to be supported like on the iPhone.

A new feature called Smart Leashing will let the Apple Watch keep an “eye” on the iPhone and will be able to notify a user if the iPhone is accidentally left behind. It is not sure that Find My iPhone and Smart Leashing will be in the next Watch OS release. The source says that it might require better hardware coming in the Apple Watch 2.

Apple is also said to update the Health and Fitness apps. Another interesting new feature are the developer support for complications, little widgets on the watch face showing indicators like activity, battery and more.

The Apple Watch is also supposed to get extended with features to work with the new Apple TV that is rumored to be unveiled at the WWDC 2015.

Apple is likely announcing the Apple Watch OS update at the WWDC 2015 on June 8.
