New awards coming to CES 2015

Exhibitors will vie for over 20 specialty awards

The Consumer Electronics Show 2015 is less than a month away in Las Vegas. The Consumer Electronics Association is expecting a huge turnout from both the consumer public and the scores of consumer electronics companies there are in the United States and around the world. It was announced this past week during a press conference that the Consumer Electronics Association will unveil new specialty awards and programs and that it will bring the total of awards to be given to exhibitors at CES 2015 to over 20.


Four new awards that will be given out at CES 2015 are Hardware Battlefield, the Wearable Tech Awards, Appnation XI, and finally the Extreme Tech Challenge. Hardware Battlefield will have 16 startups that will be battling it out for $50,000. The Wearable Tech Awards will be hosted by editors at Stuffs Magazine and will have 10 wearable technology products looking to be the best in health and fitness and the best new smart glasses and best new smart watches. Appnation XI will be a two day affair and it will showcase and honor the best new apps in the consumer electronics industry and the economy that goes with it.

Appnation XI will honor small independent app makers right on up to the bigger and more well known app developers and the major companies that they represent. The Extreme Tech Challenge will have ten of the best startup companies in the world and it will be live on stage with Consumer Electronics Association president Gary Shapiro being one of the featured judges. The winner of the competition will have the chance to fly to Virgin Music founder Sir Richard Branson and his exclusive Necker Island retreat for the chance to pitch their ideas to one of the richest men in the world.
