Swiss watchmaker Urwerk revealed a new watch that features for the first time Electro Mechanical Control (EMC). Urwerk says the watch has built-in AI.
On the day that Apple is anticipated to reveal the iWatch, Swiss watchmaker Urwerk reveals a new unique mechanical watch. The Urwerk EMC is the world’s first precision mechanical watch in which the timing can be both monitored and adjusted by the user to suit their lifestyle.
“EMC allows you to obtain reliable and accurate data about your timepiece at the touch of a button, information that until now has been the preserve of professional watchmakers. Using this information, you can fine-tune one of the most exciting, most jubilant mechanisms invented – the mechanical watch – all by yourself.” says Felix Baumgartner about the EMC watch.
Changes in position and temperature, as well as shocks, can all adversely affect the isochronism (timing regularity) of a wristwatch. But thanks to EMC’s unique and pioneering monitoring unit, not only can the wearer obtain the precise timing rate on demand, they can then use that information to accurately adjust the precision of their watch to suit their own personal rhythm.
The Urwerk EMC features a titanium and steel case, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, water resistance to 3 ATM and 80 hours power reserve. Get more details on the Urwerk site.
