Nokia had things under wraps until now. But that is so no more. It is reportedly coming out with its first Android phone Normandy at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. This will be introduced to the world from a joint Microsoft and Nokia platform.

The Finnish giant, Nokia is reportedly ready to roll out its latest device at Barcelona. While, Nokia is being taken over by Microsoft, its upcoming smartphone has Google’s Android features among its main components.

Microsoft has had a merger with Nokia at a price of $7.4 billion. The Normandy Android is slated to get revealed at the Mobile World Congress starting February 24th. It is a low end gadget and its release shows Microsoft’s blunders in judging the company it has just taken over.

Nokia still has a whole lot of class. Nokia was once the king of the hill. But then its worldwide ratings slipped. Today it is trying to re-achieve its previous position.

The addition of the Android platform will rejuvenate and revolutionize Nokia’s standing in the global echelons. Meanwhile, Microsoft has had to resort to some outsourcing to manage its accounts.

Whether this smartphone entry is a delaying tactic is something that remains a moot point. Nokia’s smart phone series will be radically different from the Android devices. That’s for sure.

The smartphone contains the usual run-of-the-mill components such as a CPU SnapDragon Processor and four inch screen.

Phones with dirt cheap rates are the “in” thing right now. Therefore, Microsoft and Nokia are collaborating on this version known as the Normandy Android.
