Leaked documents show plans by HTC to introduce ads into Blinkfeed.
As far as their smartphones are concerned, HTC hasn’t been doing that well in the market and it is pretty obvious from their sales figures. The company is, however, trying to look for ways to compensate for that and it appears that their software is going to help them do so. According to the most recent leak, HTC is planning to introduce ads to the Blinkfeed. In case you are not so familiar with HTC, Blinkfeed is the news home page found on HTC phones which is built into HTC Sense UI.

It has been a while since the Google Play Store has been offering Blinkfeed and this also allows for faster updates. The recent update is now apparently going to bring ads with it so HTC can finally start making money off the software side of things too. This technically means that Blinkfeed is going to act more like Facebook or Twitter as we all know too well how social media posts are regularly interrupted by various kinds of ads.
We are accustomed to having ads on the Android apps but Blinkfeed isn’t entirely Android-ish and it is only for the HTC phones. So far we have only heard about the company’s plans but it’s soon going to be solidified.
