  • Oakland Raiders fans are placing huge bets on the team winning Super Bowl 50.
  • Betting stats were based on the William Hill Sportsbook in Nevada.

The last time the Oakland Raiders won the Super Bowl was in 1983 and the last time they made the postseason was in 2002, but these are not stopping their fans from betting huge money their team will win Super Bowl 50 next season.

Oakland Raiders fans are placing huge bets their team will win Super Bowl 50.

ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted the latest NFL betting statistics from William Hill Sportsbook in Nevada on June 4:

With this, CBS Sports’ John Breech says the Raiders are tied with the Dallas Cowboys as the fourth-most popular pick to be Super Bowl 50 champions. Aaron Rodgers and the Super Bowl XLV champions Green Bay Packers remain the favorites to win it all, followed by the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts.

Based on the findings, Breech stresses five out of every 100 fans bet on the Raiders to win Super Bowl 50. He says it’s highly possible either the Packers or Seahawks come away victorious with the Vince Lombardi trophy next season.

As for the Raiders winning it all, Breech says that would be “complete craziness.”

He acknowledges Oakland could be better with second-year quarterback Derek Carr and rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper in tow, but also admits it’s hard to imagine the team going from 3-13 in 2014 to Super Bowl champions just a season later.

The first chart represents the number of bets being placed on each Super Bowl 50 contender. On the other hand, the second one represents the amount of money wagered on each team, per CBS Sports.

The Raiders placed seventh overall in this category, putting them in a tie with the defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots. Oakland placed better than the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals, two teams which made the postseason in 2014, per Breech.

Despite the seeming anomaly, Breech cites another sports betting site, Bovada, which gives the Raiders 66-1 odds to win Super Bowl 50.

Bovada lists all of the teams in both William Hill Sportsbook charts as having at least 12-1 odds in winning Super Bowl 50. The lone exception is the Super Bowl XLVII winner Baltimore Ravens, whose odds are 25-1.

In another development, Eddie Paskal of the Raiders’ official website interviewed several players  on June 3 to ask their take on the 2015 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.

Raiders fullback Marcel Reece told Paskal he sees the Warriors winning in six games.

“(Harrison Barnes) always has a mismatch,” Reece told Raiders.com on Wednesday. “And I don’t think the Cavaliers really have anyone they can guard him with.”

On the other hand, safety Jimmy Hall, an Ohio native, told Reece he believes the Cavaliers will win in seven games. Hall says if J.R. Smith plays well during the series, Cleveland will have a legitimate second option to complement LeBron James.

Offensive lineman Menelik Watson also sees the Cavaliers winning. However, he feels Cleveland will win in just five or six games because James will prove to be too much, per Raiders.com.

Raiders running back Taiwan Jones predicts the Warriors winning in five games with NBA All-Defensive First Team member Draymond Green being the X-factor, per the team’s official website.

“You can’t give LeBron too many chances,” Jones told Paskal. “He’s been there before so hopefully we get it in five. I’d like to see a sweep, but I don’t think they’ll allow that.”

Finally, Oakland punter Marquette King told Raiders.com he has the Warriors winning it all in six or seven games:

“They have some pretty good ballers on the Cavs, and I think it’s going to be a real good series, but I’m pulling for the Warriors to win. This is a real good matchup. Just like LeBron said, you can’t stop him, and you can’t stop (Stephen) Curry.

“If you try to stop Curry, he’s going to find a way to shoot the basketball.”
