One Robot Per Kid Kickstarter Project Launched

Educational tech toys are extremely popular on crowdfunding platform. Here is a new entry that aims to develop extremely cute robots for kids to learn robotics.

On Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms many educational technology toys for kids try to get funded. Some are aimed at teaching kids how to program. Here is new project that introduces kids to robotics. One Robot Per Kid (ORPK) aims to design a robot for kids to learn programming and robotics. It should be affordable and attractive to every child, that’s why the mBot’s price is $49 on Kickstarter.  

The mBot is a low cost, graphical programming and open-source robot for STEM education. The mBot contains basic robot materials: Aluminum chassis, Arduino-compatible main-board, Bluetooth module and other eight sensors.

The programming interface is based on Scratch 2.0 developed by MIT. 

MakeBlock, the team behind mBot, has been developing and selling electronic kits for the DIY community out of China.
