Oscar Pistorius gets his Comeuppance for killing Reeva Steenkamp

The Paralympic athlete, Oscar Pistorius is about to get his comeuppance for the crime of murdering his girlfriend which he had committed.

The jail sentence which Oscar Pistorius will probably be awarded is in excess of 15 years. The preliminaries to the final verdict will be taking place at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, South Africa. 

He had been charged with willful homicide after he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in cold blood. Ironically, the occasion was Valentine’s Day and the shocking murder took place about a year ago. 

A trio of witnesses is ready to testify in court in favor of Oscar and a fourth one is also willing to lend his take on the killing. As for the prosecutors, they have two witnesses who will speak from their side. 

Within seven days, the whole process will be over and Pistorius will be behind bars. The judge who had found Oscar not guilty had nevertheless said that he was liable to have committed culpable homicide and used extreme negligence with reference to a firearm.  

Oscar’s manager spoke of his humanitarian efforts while he also listed the lucrative contracts the Paralympic athlete had signed before his girlfriend’s death. 

According to the manager, now all those contracts were null and void and the special sportsman had virtually no future to look forward to. Until the trial came to a close, the contracts had been put on hold. 

The man’s love of humanity and general philanthropic bent of mind was mentioned by his manager. Despite the personal pain often suffered by Oscar he had always put other people first. 

Any other romantic dalliances of Oscar were also probed in court. One witness suggested that the convicted individual ought to be placed under house arrest instead of being given a prison sentence. 

As for Oscar’s psychologist, she said that he was wracked with feelings of guilt and contrition. Several times his sessions with her consisted of nothing but him crying his head off. He felt that it was his fault, though he expressed the belief that he had never meant to kill Reeva Steenkamp.
