The release date of upcoming film “Pan” has been pushed back to October to avoid a clash with other films opening in the season.

Variety reported that new fantasy film “Pan, which has been set to release on July 24, is having a delay of two months and will now open on October 9.

The reason is simple and logical too many films were scheduled to release close to Pan’s release date, which /4/hamper its success chances at the box office.

“We wanted to give Pan the space to extend its theatrical run, so taking it out of the cluttered summer season made the most sense,” said Warner Bros. domestic distribution head Dan Fellman. “Moving the film to the heart of fall will allow us more time to screen the picture, enabling us to capitalize on what we anticipate will be strong word of mouth.”

The films releasing this summer includes Mad Max: Fury Road, Vacation, Ant-Man, Entourage, San Andreas, The Gallows and Me Before You. Pixels, Paper Town and Southpaw were among those films which are expected to open on the same date as was Pan.

The new releasing date of October 9 means Pan will no longer be surrounded by big-budget films but it /4/face a stiff challenge against biographical film “Steve Jobs” directed by Danny Boyle.

The new 3D adventure film “Pan” is directed by Joe Wright and stars Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, Garrett Hedlund and Amanda Seyfried.
