Paul McCartney shares details about his fitness regime and the reason why he stopped using hash!

Sir Paul McCartney is a pretty fit man at 72 years of age and it can all be attributed to leaving behind a few bad habits and his fitness regime. In a recent interview promoting his ongoing tour Paul opened up about his fitness habits and other thoughts.

According to Paul he stopped using weed a long time ago and it has greatly contributed to his fitness as cannabis does not dull his senses, instead Paul just enjoys a glass of wine. Paul was originally introduced to cannabis back in 1964 by Bob Dylan and became a heavy user.

Paul described his first time using the weed as the first time he really started thinking and wrote songs. However the addiction started getting heavy and Paul was arrested about 35 years ago trying to smuggle weed in Japan on person.

Paul admits those days are far behind him and the reason was ultimately becoming a parent. In Paul’s own words back then he used to be a bloke running around London and doing hash but then he quit because it became a parent thing as he did not want to leave a bad influence on his children. Paul now has five kids and eight grandchildren and is fitter and happier than ever.

Paul revealed to Daily Mirror some other habits of his fitness regime citing he does not follow one trainer but copies a trainer after seeing them. Paul does a mixture of exercises including running, cardio, and weight lifting but then he ends it all with standing on his head. The move was learned by Paul in the 60’s as a yoga move to relax and Paul has been doing it since then for flexing after a good workout.
