Sir Paul McCartney is a big name in music industry. He is a world famous musician and song writer. And he is now using his skills to promote a new campaign.
Meat Free Mondays is the name of new campaign. And Paul McCartney wants all people to join this campaign. He actually wants to reduce the amount of meat that people eat on daily basis. For this purpose, he posted a video on YouTube.
This video shows a small track. The title of track is Meat Free Monday. In this small rap, McCartney asked people to eat only vegetables once a week. This video shows some other celebrities too. These include Joanna Lumley, Twiggy and Woody Harrelson.
According to the Guardian, “Musician calls on politicians and the British public to commit to a weekly meat-free day to raise awareness on the environmental impacts of eating meat, ahead of the UN climate summit on Tuesday. McCartney implores viewers to pledge their support on the campaign website, before launching into a rap consisting solely of the website name, repeated over and over again.”
In his YouTube video, McCartney said, “I need your help, all I want you to do is just log in on pledge.meatfreemondays.com and pledge your support to the idea of meat-free Mondays … Please do it. We’ll send all these pledges to the politicians, and then they’ll do something about it.”
At the end of this message, Paul McCartney did a short rap. He used finger-clicks, animated hand gestures and hand claps to support the rap in which he asked, “Pledge.meatfreemondays.com, pledge.meatfreemondays.com. You can do it right now please.”
A huge amount of people had signed up for the campaign. Over 800,000 people had signed up till yesterday afternoon. More people will surely sign up for the sake of their environment.
