Pebble just got support for Android and they announced on their blog that they are now supporting Android Wear notifications.
Pebble users will love it when they hear about the good news that their smartwatches now support Android Wear apps. Pebble claim that with this new Android support, people would be able to reply and act on notifications with the help of their Pebble smartwatches.
Pebble announced that in order to get the latest Android Wear compatibility, the users would need to download the latest firmware which was released just last week. The version of the firmware is v2.9 and users can also get the new Pebble Android app v.2.3 from the Google Play Store.
Pebble is also thankful to Google for their open approach in their Android’s notification system. Pebble is also hoping to get more support for their smartwatches so that whatever smartphone you use, you are able to use Pebble with it.
Pebble first added their Android support back in December but it was limited to beta testers. But now Pebble has released a public update and with the help of this update, you will be able to do whatever an Android watch can do.
Some things that you will be able to do with your Pebble watch is that you can approve money requests when you’re using Square Cash or you will be able to reply to a Hangouts message with an emoji. The smartwatch business hasn’t flourished enough as last year there were only 720,000 watches shipped.
