Even after 18 years of its launch, Pokemon games are still considered to be among the best in the world.

The first Pokemon game was released in 1996; back then no one had imagined that these games would make such an impact on the game world. Even after 18 years of success, they still are considered to be among the best games in the world.

One major reason behind the success of these games was the efficacious TV show along with the trading card games. Pokemon franchise is currently among the bestselling video game franchises of all time.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire’ is the newest addition to the Pokémon franchise and it will hit the retail shelves on the 28th of November. However, on 15th October a demo of the game was released for the fans by Nintendo

The demand for Pokemon games has increased, despite the fact that Nintendo reported annual losses. Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 sales reached up to almost 5 million worldwide.

Nevertheless, their successors Pokemon X and Y were released in 2013 and since then the games have garnered over 12 million sales worldwide which is 7.8 million more than their predecessor.

Pokemon games are designed for all genders and all ages. People who were in their childhood when the first game of Pokemon was released are now adults. And this factor, i.e. ‘nostalgia factor’ is Nintendo’s greatest strength.

Most of the people from Generation X are familiar with the word ‘Pokemon’ and their happiest childhood memories are associated with the game. The developers of the games are cashing in on this very factor.

Pokemon games have been launched in the last six years. Pokémon Gold & Silver were released in 1999, and just a few years back the remake of this version was launched called Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver. Then in 2010 the remake of Pokémon Black & White was released.

Although the games are a reboot of other games, yet they will have a whole new meaning on their own. People will enjoy playing them as much as they enjoyed playing the original ones.
