The will mark Obama’s third appearance as president and eighth overall on the show
David Letterman’s farewell shows are underway, with so many celebrities already appeared on the show and many more are yet to come and one of them will be the president Barack Obama.
CBS announced on Friday that present Obama will be the guest on Monday’s edition of The Late Show with David Letterman. This will mark the eighth and the final appearance of president Obama on the show and third as the incumbent president. Other guests to join /4/4 edition will be Will Ferrell, Avett Brothers and Brandi Charlie, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Last month, the network announced a huge list of stars to appear on the final 28 broadcasts of the show, starting from April 13 till /4/20 on the Letterman,s signing off. The star-studded lineup includes Reese Witherspoon, Tina Fay, Norah Jones, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Tom Hanks and Oprah Winfrey while Sarah Jessica Parker, Billy Crystal, Michael J. Fox, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Robert Downey Jr. and Michelle Obama already dazzled the show.
Before the Monday show goes on air, CBS will pay a tribute to David Letterman in the form of special 90-minute program “David Letterman: A Life on Television. The program which will be hosted by Ray Romano will highlight Letterman’s television career which spanned over 30 years. It will also feature clips of the most memorable interviews, top ten lists, Human Tricks and signature stunts etc.
The Late Show was stared on August 30, 1993 and will end on /4/20 with more than 4,000 late night shows. Stephen Colbert will take over the show when David Letterman leaves it in May.
