Rachel Bilson’s First Baby Has Finally Arrived
The long wait is finally over. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen first baby has arrived. UShas reported that Rachel delivered a bouncing baby girl.
The little princess was immediately named Briar Rose. The name was borrowed from a character in the 1959 film, Sleeping Beauty. The character is said to have protected Princess Aurora from being cursed by Maleficent.
The same name was previously assigned to a character in Grimm Brothers. The two actors had told the world about their unborn baby back in May. They have never stopped sharing their expectations.
A reliable source said the couple was so thrilled by the outcome. “They’ve both talked about this for awhile and are so excited,” an insider said to Us. “Everyone is beyond thrilled for them.”
The duo started dating in 2008. The two were in
Jumper cast team. Their relationship has been on and off. They actually broke up in August 2010 but made up after just three months.
Bilson had told
Cosmopolitan magazine in /4/that she has always dreamt of being a mother. “I definitely have family on the brain,” she said
. “Having kids is something I want to see in my future—I hope.”
The couple had hosted a baby shower party at their home in Los Angeles in August 31st. The duo had invited some of their old
friends including siblings and former school mates.
Though everyone was expected to give Bilson a gift, the guests left her with beaded necklaces that were believed to keep her going during labor. “She will use the beads for strength during labor,” a source disclosed to Us.
Bilson featured in Heart of Dixie with Jaime King. King told US in /4/that she was excited to see Bilson become a mother. “It’s a really celebratory time. I’m really thrilled and happy that she’s going to be on this next journey of her life,”King said.
The co-star was attending the launch of Annenberg Space for Photography Exhibition Los Angeles.
