Reba McEntire releases Love Somebody

Reba McEntire releases her latest album ‘Love Somebody’.

The Oklahoma native Reba is well known in the music industry for her three decade long career. The latest album of the 60 year old musician Reba ‘Love Somebody’ was released today through the Nash Icon Records, which is the company’s debut album.

In an interview with Billboard when Reba was asked how she feels launching the new label with her latest album, Reba described the experience as ‘Great’, ‘Honoured’ and ‘Flattered’ being a flagship artist for a records label. 

As is McEntire’s niche the new album is filled with break up songs and heartbreak ballads. According to Reba if a person hasn’t had their heart broken they are about six months old romantically and everyone has their heart broken one way or another so a lot of people can relate to the music. Singing sad songs is more relatable for people with broken hearts. 

It’s not as though Reba hasn’t tried to sing love songs but they just don’t touch her heart and for her to records a song the emotions have to feel right when Reba sings it. An incredibly emotional song from her new album is entitled ‘Enough’ which is collaboration with Jennifer Nettles. Reba feels the song is wonderful and described Nettles’ as being incredibly talented with a great vocal ability which hits every note, which actually gave Reba the chills. 

In the interview Reba explained to Billboard, she’s not afraid of the challenges of a new album in the music industry as the process has remained the same through the years and when she was releasing her album she felt excited for the fun to begin, which includes going on tour and promoting at radio. Although there have been technological advances since Reba began her career in the late 1970’s the recording process is till familiar to her.
