Being celebrated in the US for the first time, a whole lot of celebrities will be participating for the Red Nose Day for raising money for hungry children.

It’s charity and it’s fun, it’s the Red Nose Day. Initiated by Richard Curtis 30 years ago, it has been celebrated since then across the UK. With the British influence that has been taking Hollywood with a sweep, the US has been inspired by the cause and celebrities and people alike are celebrating the day for the first time. It is a day to raise money to help poverty ridden children by feeding them. In the UK that rate is estimated to be 1 in 5 but in the US that rate raises to 1 in 4.

Christine Temple, Communication Coordinator with Ozarks Food Harvest elaborated that kids can just be kids when they are not hungry instead of being so hungry that all they care about is where their next meal comes from. That’s the aim for the charity, she said, to feed the kids and let them flourish and become better parts of the community as they are the future.

Feeding America and United Ways are some local organizations that would be benefitting from the charity collected throughout the day. Although only a part of the collection would reach them, the organizations believe it will go a long way in helping the cause.

Debi Meeds, President and CEO of the United Way of the Ozarks explained that the organizations work everyday with and for the children and even though it’s just one day that everyone is doing something for them, it’s great that there is awareness over the issues children are facing everyday around us.

It’s a great cause and all Americans are all for supporting it. Many celebrities, actors, singers, performers and comedians all volunteered to entertain people, have some fun and raise the money for the charities. Celebrities are supporting the cause to urge their fans to give to the cause.
