- His knee problem might have been triggered due to the tragedy of his dog Hattie’s death.
Simmons made his last appearance in January after which he has not been sighted. Sources say he’s depressed due to an upcoming knee surgery.
The fitness guru who has made a huge difference in the world of fitness isn’t so fit himself. Richard Simmons was last seen in January. On January 11th to be specific when he attended a charity event. That’s the last time anyone saw him.
He actually gave a video out that day and he went radio silent after that. There’s been no news of him. He is not taking any calls or visitors. He has also failed to come around to his fitness academy, Slimmons where he was a permanent fixture. No body knows where he went.
Some of his close friends, who he is in contact with, revealed that Simmons is scheduled to have a knee surgery. The surgery has depressed him a lot. The doctors have said that without the surgery he might never be able to exercise again.
The surgery has made him depressed and he has been putting it off for the entire year. He is probably trying to come to terms with it. Richard has tried stem cells and red blood cells therapy in hope of avoiding the bloody procedure. His hopes are running out probably due to his age.
One has to think why a fitness man like Simmons would have such an extensive damage in his knees. His depressive state might be blamed for it. That depression was continued from an earlier event. The tragic death of his Dalmatian Hattie. She was 17 years old and she was ill.
She died within days of his last appearance in January. Hattie was like Simmons child who didn’t have any of his own. The dog’s death landed Richard in depression and he was unable to cope with it.
The knee deteriorated while he was depressed about Hattie and has been unable to recover from it. The result of which is the surgery. Richard’s fans wish him well and hope that he makes a quick recovery.
Richard posted the following message on his Facebook page a few hours ago.
I am so touched by the outpouring of love and concern I have received today. I have had a tough time dealing with this injury, as it is keeping me from doing what I truly love to do and that is to teach classes around the world. Make sure you keep Sweatin’!
