Robert Kraft wants an Apology from NFL if no Tampering Found

Patriots owner Robert Kraft says that NFL should apologize to the Patriots, especially to Bill Belichick and Tom Brady afte the completion of Ted Wells’ investigation into the Deflategate matter if the NFL can’t find any wrongdoing.

The NFL is conducting its investigation over the deflated footballs and angered by this Patriots owner Robert Kraft made quite a shocking appearance at the team’s opening news conference of Super Bowl XLIX on Monday.

Kraft stated that the NFL owes the team an apology if the investigation by NFL does not uncover any wrongdoing. The statement was made before the AFC title game win over the Colts.

Kraft was very particular in explaining that the NFL owes an apology especially to Bill Belichick and Tom Brady once the investigation is completed and no wrong action is found. The investigation is being headed by Ted Well.

The 73 year old owner of Patriots, Robert Kraft, stated that if the investigation by Wells is not able to find anything about the involvement of his organization tampering with the air pressure in the footballs he would expect that the NFL apologizes to the whole team.

He also stated that the apology should be in particular to coach Belichick and Tom Brady for everything that they have gone through since the allegations. Kraft also stated that he is very disappointed and hurt with the handling of this matter. 

Well Robert Kraft was not scheduled to speak on Monday but he still conveyed his anger and disappointment over the entire matter. He stated that he wants to make sure that he without any doubt believes that the New England Patriots have done nothing wrong and is proud to be a part of them.

It is also noteworthy to mention that up till now only Robert Kraft from the team’s front office has directly addressed the situation. Even coach Belichick sidestepped many of the questions about the ongoing investigation. Moreover the head of the investigation Ted Wells stated on Monday afternoon that the league’s probe would still take several more weeks to complete its findings. 

In regard to explaining the honesty and sportsmanship of the team Robert Kraft talked about the team’s coaches. He stated that Tom and Bill have been with him for 15 years and are his guys. He explained that both of them are a part of his family and that Tom and Bill have had many difficult and hard times with him but have never lied to him.

That is why he said that he believes in them and is confident in what he has said. Robert Kraft is  also very concerned about the reputation and integrity of Bill, Tom and the whole team. Kraft also stated at the press conference that everyone expects hard facts rather than the circumstantial leaked evidence in order to draw a conclusion of this investigation. 

NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash will be alongside Ted Wells in this investigation. However, Wells investigation would still take several more weeks to complete, according to a statement issued Monday afternoon. Ted Wells has previously also conducted an investigation into the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal. Let’s see whether this time Ted Wells find anything that will put the Patriots in trouble.
