Roku announces updated search and set top boxes

The new features make it easier for users to look for their favorite shows

Roku’s recent softare and hardware update has brought some new features for increased convenience. For starters, the streaming platform has added features which allow users to easily find their favorite movies and TV serials. This obviously makes it less hectic to go through more than 2,000 streaming channels which available on the platform.

Roku Search has also been updated and you can now do in-depth search for a particular show, movie, actor or even director. Search results have also been refined; once you click on your find, you will get more details on it regarding where you can watch it and how much it is going to cost you. In addition to this, Roku 3 gets a new voice search feature which is something like the Amazon.com Fire TV box. Activating the voice feature on the remote is going to give you all the comfort you need while you are too tired to type or look for something.

Roku’s remote app for the iOS and the Android has also been updated and it now includes a new Feeds view. The remote also includes some amazing shortcuts which will directly take you to your dedicated channels such as YouTube, Netflix, Rdio and Google Play.

The update also brings the new Roku Feed which might look like all other services but gives you absolute control. This means that you have to manually add content like movies to your list and not doing so means that they are not added to your list ever. There is still some time till Roku Feed makes its way to the users.
