The Birdman’s cast won the best performance awards with a little slip on stage while accepting the award.

Movies and TV celebrated another night celebrating the best of talent at the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards or more commonly known as the SAG Awards. While most of the American public doesn’t see the awards, the actors set much value to attending it and more importantly winning it. This year the talent has been tremendous and stars came out in full glow on the red carpet.

The guys in their stylish tuxedos and suits while the ladies shone with their dazzling beauty in exuberant colors.

The couple to catch the eye was definitely Sofia Vegara and Joe Manganiello. The 42 years old actress dazzled in a red Donna Karan Atlier georgette gown accompanied by a sparkly diamond engagement ring on her finger. The actor looked sharp in a black tux.

Her co-stars from the show Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter and nominee Julie Bowen looked equally stunning. The winners for the night dominated in a green soiree when Julianne Moore and Patricia Arquette both wore different shades of green.

For TV, there was definitely a pattern continuing from the Golden Globes as Kevin Spacey and Viola Davis won the best performances in their respective shows in the Drama category. William H.

Macy and the very much deserving Uzo Aduba won the comedy performance awards. The TV movie or miniseries title was exciting to watch as Frances McDormand won for Olive Kitteridge and Mark Ruffalo won for the Normal Heart on HBO.

Fun fact, Ruffalo wasn’t present at the Awards so he responded with his gratitude on Twitter with a pic in bed captioned “Upon waking and hearing from my wife and kids that I won a @SAGAwards for #TheNormalHeart,” ,he captioned the picture on Instagram. “Love wins tonight”.

When it came to the big guns, Downton Abbey picked up the best cast ensemble in a drama series while Orange is the New Black picked the same award for the comedy series.

The winning four, the best Actor and Actress and best Supporting Actor and Actress were Eddie Redmayne for the Theory of Everything, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, J.K. Simmons for Whiplash and Patricia Arquette for Boyhood respectively.

The four actors gave moving speeches regarding the importance of being actors and getting to work with amazing actors. Julianne Moore remembered the start of her career and emphasized that it was important to work with other actors, Eddie made his speech legit by supporting ALS in his speech while J.K. Simmons just being Simmons graced the speech with random emotion and a few perky jokes.

Patricia Arquette exhibited the same nervous and adorable energy that she showed at the Golden Globes hence they all practiced a good deal just in case they will take the golden man at the Oscars next month.

When it came to the biggest award of the night that is, Outstanding Performance by a cast in a motion picture, Birdman took the honors. The cast made their way to the stage and took in turns to speak out their gratitude.

Michael Keaton took the lead and said it was important to work with great actors. He was followed by Edward Norton and just when they motioned Naomi Watts to come forth and say her piece, she tripped on the sheer terrain of Emma Stone’s dress and while the actress tried not to fall, Emma laughed out and Norton helped her steady herself.

Naomi however, gracefully gained her composure and went ahead with the speech. While she is not the only actress to trip on stage but it does crack you up everytime it does. Hence the night ended at a high note as the actors now look ahead for the Oscar race.
